Deadbug Level 5: Ipsilateral Limb Lower with Exercise Ball

In this video, Athletic Therapist Sarah Black demonstrates the 5th level of the deadbug exercises, Ipsilateral Limb Lower, with an exercise ball.

The deadbug exercise is an effective movement designed to engage and strengthen the muscles around the hip, pelvis and trunk. The Ipsilateral Limb Lower builds off of our foundation of diaphragmatic breathing and works on maintain a strong core position while moving our limbs – an important skill for our day-to-day activities as well as sport. Ipsilateral means “same side” so you are moving the right leg and right arm together, and then alternating with the left leg and left arm.

The exercise ball gives us more feedback to increase intra-abdominal pressure and improve core engagement. It can also help us increase the intensity of the exercise
